History

 Rise Up became an independent charity in 2024, but its roots stretch back much further. Led today by Gill Bough, Clare Cleave, and Jo Pearse, the team shares a passionate vision: to see women personally encounter the Lord Jesus as they gather and worship, rise up in faith, and embrace their God-given callings as fully empowered women of God.

This vision was first ignited by founder Heather Double, who began hosting annual conferences many years ago under the banner of Good News Crusade. Her rallying cry—“Course you can!”—captured the spirit of encouragement and equipping that continues to shape Rise Up’s mission today.

Over time, Good News Crusade evolved into Edge, and later Edge Ministries. Following prophetic words of release, Rise Up stepped into its own identity as a charity in 2024, continuing its legacy of faith, empowerment, and transformation.
